The channel [...] is meant primarily as a space for intellectual exploration. Thus, conversation should be interesting, novel, and in-depth, though humor is accepted as well. In general, comments should bring something to the table, whether it be an interesting fact, a clever remark, a new perspective, or so on. Casual conversation with no particular topic in mind is acceptable as well, though not the main focus.
Taking adversarial stances is not only accepted but encouraged, so long as it is done in good faith with the intention of finding truth (as opposed to simply 'winning').
Despite this list, good faith will remain an "I know it when I see it"-type thing. If you're in this channel, you're probably someone I know and trust to act in good faith anyway.
